Balauria

Glossary

The words you will meet in the game and in the clan chat.

Era
one life of the world, from the first settlement to the fall of the Balaur (or the end of the time). Everything but accounts, titles and the Hall of Fame resets.
Balaur
the many-headed dragon of Romanian legend; here the shared boss of every era, asleep in its lair at the centre of the map.
Front
one of six sites around the lair that clans hold with armies for bonuses in the raid; hold points fade by half each day.
Provocation
a clan with enough members and aether wakes the Balaur before its time; a failed raid resets its fighters.
Wrath
once awake, the Balaur cuts the whole world's production a little more every few days until it is slain.
Aether
the rare fifth resource, produced by the shrine; it pays for hero matters: respecs, companions, the ritual, the clan's provocation.
Mythic
one of twenty folklore creatures per era, bound only by the first twenty heroes to reach level 70.
Synergy
the hero's bonus to the army category his class leads best; it grows with his level.
Stash
the hero's bag of materials from gathering and camps; traded on the stash market.
Strength gap
attacks on players far weaker than you are refused, except during a declared war.
Shield
hours of immunity after too many lost defences in a day, or after a Balaur phase; beginners start with a long one.
Tempo
the pace of a shorter era: production and times scale so a 30-day era has the same arc as an 84-day one.
Colony
a second settlement founded by an expedition on free land; it needs a keep of some level and a free slot.
Caravan
merchants carrying resources between settlements or to the market; they travel like armies and can be few.
Hall of Fame
the record of every era: the winning clan, its allies, the heroes who did most against the Balaur.
